About Sahayata
Sahayata was born out of the urge to serve with the following objectives:
To provide value based education to children and enable them to be better human beings of tomorrow.
To provide guidance and support the destitute and socially/economically backward women by showing a way for livelihood. This will enable them to live a life of dignity and self-respect and improve their quality of life.
To mentor students to live a life filled with success and happiness.
Our Activities
Sponsored schooling and engineering college education of a school attendant's son who is currently employed with a leading IT firm
Sponsoring education of eight deserving students on an ongoing basis, with their growth and performance constantly monitored
Helping a home for the differently-abled, ‘Samarpana', who have underprivileged inmates and are in dire need of funds on an ongoing basis
Provided artificial limbs to a poor boy, whose hand was amputated after an electric accident.
Have conducted ‘Personality development' programs for school students covering topics such as value-based living, confidence building, and self-development.
Have addressed professional college students on life related topics.
Have authored books – ‘Mangayer Kaiyedu', a motivational book for women to live a balanced and happy life and “You can become a complete Manager”, a guide for young professionals. Proceeds of these publications are used for Sahayata projects.
Kala Murthy
A retired bank employee, Kala does voluntary service for RASA, a school for differently abled children. She renders valuable service to NGOs by way of physical, moral and economic support. She teaches slokas and the rich values of mythology for children. She serves as an inspiration to the people around her by sharing her experiences and way of living.
S Ramakrishnan
A chartered accountant by profession, Ramky has worked with companies like SB Billimoria, Eicher Group, Shriram Group, Lumax Group and Bharti during his 20 years of professional life. Currently working with IBM Daksh as their financial controller for Bangalore.
It has been his passion to make a difference to young professionals and help them migrate from the school of functional knowledge to the world of practical wisdom. He he takes time to share his experiences with young professional students and has addressed management and Engineering students in Chennai, Hyderabad & New Delhi.
He has authored a self help book titled “You can become a complete Manager” (2003). This book is a 10-step experiential guide written out of his personal experiences to help budding professionals get a perspective of life and learn from his mistakes & experiences, and thereby grow quickly.
Usha Ramakrishnan
Backed by a professional experience of working in a multinational bank for 14 years, Usha is now pursuing her passion of making a difference. An M.Phil in Women Studies, her goal is working for empowerment of women. She has written a motivational book for women titled ‘Mangayer Kaiyedu' (Tamil). She is writing a sequel titled ‘The Sweating Queens' in a monthly magazine called Frozen Thoughts, which addresses issues related to women. She conducts personality development workshops, “All-rounders” for children. She has addressed teenage students on various topics, which enable them to become a complete personality.
